What you need to know about these affiliate platforms
There are many affiliate platforms available, but they have downsides. I will discuss some of them here.
If you run a business, it is important that you make a wise decision. Making money online has to be sustainable, scalable and residual. if you had 1 successful promotion, you are not an entrepreneur yet. And you do not want to put all your eggs in one basket.
If you run a normal promotion for let’s say Clickbank, you make a quick buck, but that is it. As an affiliate marketer, you want to be building your list, so you can email your prospects often. So you need to sign up for different networks, but which one to choose?
I keep these in the make money online niche ONLY.
Affiliate marketplaces.
There are many affiliate marketplaces to sign up for. I give jus a few examples.
The oldest and well-known one is Clickbank.
Clickbank has products in many categories, and a big advantage is that they sell products in a lot of categories, so you WILL find products that will make you some money. Another advantage is that they can pay you straight into your bank account if you wish. Also, for most products, you are auto-approved.
The downside, however, is that there a lot of crappy stuff is being sold out there. If you run a serious business, and you want to bring the best products to your email list as possible, check out the product yourself. Otherwise, you will lose your customers for promoting bad stuff.
Another big one is JVZoo.
JVZoo is known for the more quality products, big vendors sell their products on there. But as PayPal is closing down affiliate marketers on a massive scale for no reason, they had no answer to that. Luckily they saw that they needed to do something, and they have now payment processors for vendors AND affiliates, other than Paypal. for instance, Payoneer can be used. you are new to the market, you might get difficulties getting approved for an offer, because the vendors look at how many sales you have made, refund rate, but also how long you signed up with JVZoo. That is a good and a bad thing. Good, because you have a certain reputation to promote JVZoo products, and bad, because it is hard to get approved if you are new. So the best thing is to sign up for that today.
JVZoo however, also has a downside. You promote the heck out of an offer, made some sales, then JVZoo says Thank you: I have the email address. And they start to promote the heck to the customer you worked so hard to get in the first place.
An older affiliate network is Warrior Plus
Warriorplus was a mix of a forum platform and an affiliate marketplace. So you answer questions on their forum and sell them products from the affiliate marketplace. Now they have separated both worlds. They have high, but also lower quality products, and vendors can choose if they approve you to promote their products. The approval is easier on Warrior plus, so it is a good place to start if you are new
The disadvantage is the same as on JVZoo, they start emailing YOUR customers.
Network marketplaces
These also have been around for a long while. Network marketing is also referred to as Multi Level marketing (MLM).
You join a platform and you make commissions by referring other people to the same platform. This is mostly used in the make money online business.
Their focus is all about one product you will be promoting.
Before joining such a program, it is always good to check them out BEFORE getting into one of them. They are often referred to as a pyramid scheme, because of the bad reputation, caused by so-called Ponzi schemes ( paying upper levels only with the money of the lower levels, the company is mostly in debt if that happens)
However, there are some good ones, where you can enter without fear of being scammed. Make a difference between programs and affiliate networks
When reading reviews it is also good to check if they are trustworthy. many of these reviews claim everything is a scam, and than pitch you their product instead. Please be aware of that.
A well-known training center is Online Sales Pro
Online Sales Pro (OSP) is a training platform to learn affiliate marketing. I find it really good because they have some golden nuggets in there. it is also a very popular platform, because of the value
Learn the basics:25 dollar 1 up
If you want to get your feet wet with MLM, try 25dollar1up. here you will learn the very basics of multi-level marketing.
The good thing is that you only have a very small one-time investment. You will learn how such a platform works, without having the risk of losing a lot of money.
it has a good earning potential, but it is only for beginners.
Business opportunities (or Biz ops)
Business opportunities are programs where you sell the program, then the buyer sells the program, then the buyer sells the program and so on.
be very careful with getting into biz ops, as they may get shut down with the FTC and other government. An example is the reselling of gold.
Other affiliate network programs
There are also tons of programs that are NOT part of any affiliate network.
You can join such programs and promote the heck out of them. The advantage is that you are promoting products that are known in the industry, they offer residual income. It means you get paid monthly. If you want to have a serious business, that gives you long lasting money, this is the path to choose.
Some great examples are clickfunnels getresponse fourpercent
Mixing these in your marketing campaigns ensure you have satisfied customers and multiple streams of income.
If you are looking for products you can promote that are not in the make money online world, you can check out ShareASale en the Rakuten networks.
This article is only for affiliate networks, NOT advertising networks as maxbounty, peerfly and many others.
